INTEL COMMUNITY
Intelligence, Strategy, and the Israeli-Iranian War.
Israel is leveraging clandestine intelligence—both Mossad’s covert drone base inside Iran and Israeli airstrikes targeting nuclear, missile, and command sites in mid-June 2025—to significantly degrade Iran’s retaliatory capabilities. Meanwhile, U.S. intelligence portrays Iran’s nuclear ambitions as “not imminent,” contrasting sharply with Israeli urgency, and this divergence is influencing U.S. strategic leverage and decision-making regarding deeper involvement.
DHS expects Iran’s cyber forces will target US networks.
Iran-linked hackers and other groups affiliated with Tehran will likely launch cyberattacks against U.S. targets in response to POTUS’s order to strike three of Iran’s nuclear sites, according to a DHS bulletin issued Sunday.

DOGE holds meetings with W.H., new postal leadership, and TREAS to discuss reforming USPS.
The W.H., along with the DOGE and Treasury officials, has been holding meetings with new USPS leadership to explore broad reforms—including mail pricing strategies and potential exigent rate increases beyond the scope of prior agreements. These internal discussions aim to reshape postal operations ahead of David Steiner’s appointment as postmaster general in July and come amid concerns over staffing, service quality, and financial stability dating back to prior cost-cutting plans.
W.H. aims to halt fantastical NASA missions across the solar system.
The OMB has proposed slashing nearly 41 NASA science missions—cutting the agency’s science budget in half and targeting programs that explore Venus, Mars, Earth, astrophysics (including the Chandra X-Ray Observatory and Habitable Worlds Observatory), and key missions like Apophis and solar system probes. This steep pivot shifts NASA’s focus toward human spaceflight initiatives, including a $1 billion investment in Mars lander and spacesuit development, while putting robotic exploration on the chopping block.
