Raytheon has unveiled the MTS-A HD electro-optical sensor, enhancing targeting precision and situational awareness for Navy helicopter pilots. The modular system builds on over four million combat flight hours and is compatible with more than 400 aircraft platforms.

Air Force expands Global Strike Command for B-21 transition.

The U.S. Air Force is expanding its Global Strike Command to support deployment of the B-21 Raider and other high-priority modernization efforts. With 31,000 personnel currently and adjustments underway for nuclear systems, helicopters, and airborne command centers, officials say this growth reflects a strategic shift.

TSA seeks private sector input to enhance airport security.

The TSA is inviting the private sector to propose turnkey, technology-driven airport screening systems—especially those leveraging artificial intelligence for threat detection, remote screening, robotics or biometric ID verification—that can lower operating costs, minimize manual labor, improve passenger throughput, adapt to surge conditions, and integrate securely with the TSA Cloud while meeting the agency’s rigorous security and performance standards

DOE encourages U.S. firms to build nuclear fuel lines.

The DOE wants U.S. companies to build and operate nuclear fuel production lines—no NRC license required (yet). The Fuel Line Pilot Program aims to power three new reactors by next year and end reliance on foreign uranium. Applications are due August 15, so bring your feedstock and funding.

GAO flags SSA’s $2B IT oversight gap.

The GAO says SSA is flying blind on $2 billion in IT spending—90% of its tech budget—due to missing oversight processes. From infrastructure to cybersecurity, the agency’s review board skipped performance checks, risking waste and missed targets.
