The Pentagon is testing commercial drones under its Drone Dominance Program to build a vetted Blue UAS Select list that meets military cybersecurity and supply-chain standards. So far, 29 drones have been approved, aiming to speed procurement of trusted systems and reduce reliance on risky foreign components.
New Army office aims to quickly develop and scale soldier ideas.
The Army has launched a new office called the Pathway for Innovation and Technology to move promising soldier-generated prototypes more quickly into formal acquisition programs and scaled production. The effort aims to cut bureaucracy and speed useful technologies from concept to the field.
DIU eyes first launch for its commercial hypersonic testbed.
The DIU plans its first launch of a commercially built hypersonic testbed later this month, pairing Rocket Lab’s HASTE rocket with Hypersonix’s scramjet vehicle to collect real-world flight data. The effort is part of a broader push to speed up and scale hypersonic testing for future Pentagon systems.

VA doesn’t know how many calls it is answering or how long veterans are waiting to get through.
The VA is failing to track basic phone-line performance—like total calls answered, wait times and hang-up rates at most medical facilities—meaning roughly 1 million of 2.1 million veteran calls over a year weren’t measured, even for high-risk services like radiology and mental health, the inspector general warns.
