The GSA deleted 18F, a government tech consultancy that helps other agencies with their technology. The office has been deemed “non-critical.” Thomas Shedd, director of GSA’s Technology Transformation Services said, “There are no other TTS programs impacted at this time, however we anticipate more change in the future.” Read more
With ‘AI Jam,’ Anthropic, OpenAI pursue work at US national labs.
Through a new project, about a thousand government scientists will analyze AI models from companies like OpenAI and Anthropic. The initiative, called a “Scientist AI Jam,” will focus on these chatbots’ scientific and research capabilities.
