GovBrew Recruits Federal Industry Leader Lisa Shea Mundt to serve as CEO
Accomplished federal market leader recruited to take the helm following GovBrew’s recent acquisition
GovBrew has named Lisa Shea Mundt Chief Executive Officer, bringing an experienced federal market strategist, educator and familiar industry voice to lead the media platform into its next chapter. The appointment comes just days after the acquisition of GovBrew’s media properties and assets and represents one of the first major moves under its new ownership.
Mundt brings 15 years of experience helping companies navigate, compete and grow in the federal marketplace. Throughout her career, she has helped lead and advise organizations pursuing billions of dollars in federal contract wins across business development, capture, proposal strategy and procurement analysis. An educator by nature, she has also spent years training and coaching executives and growth teams, while becoming a familiar presence across the federal community as a speaker, podcaster, facilitator and content contributor.
Finding the right person to take the helm was an early priority for OrangeSlices founder David Blackburn, who said he was looking for more than an experienced executive to run the business.
“Lisa was a no-brainer,” said Blackburn. “I wasn’t looking for someone to simply manage GovBrew. I wanted a partner who could take the reins, own the vision and build what comes next. Lisa understands this market from the inside, has spent her career helping others succeed in it, and brings an incredible combination of curiosity, credibility, energy and personality. She understands that you can take the work seriously without always taking yourself too seriously. That makes her an incredibly natural fit for GovBrew.”
As CEO, Mundt will set GovBrew’s strategy and lead its content, partnerships, growth and future direction, building on the distinctive brand and community established by founders Chad and Shane Prosser while shaping what GovBrew becomes next.
Mundt is Past President of Women in Technology and serves on the board of the JMU Federal Dukes Alumni Chapter. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from James Madison University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Writing and Rhetoric at George Mason University.
"I’m so incredibly thrilled to step in as GovBrew’s CEO!" said Lisa Mundt. "Our community thrives when information is shared, so it’s a great honor to provide a platform where all members of our market can learn and grow. I know that trust requires nurturing and visibility, and I’m committed to being that advocate within the federal procurement landscape. GovBrew will operate at the intersection where the latest news meets levitous tone. Our mission is to educate while saying the quiet part out loud, so let us pour you a piping hot cup of contracting. Will you take yours with a splash of meme?"
GovBrew will continue to operate independently under Mundt’s leadership, maintaining its own brand, voice, partnerships and commercial relationships while collaborating with OrangeSlices and Arctas where their respective communities, content and capabilities create opportunities to better serve government, industry and the broader federal ecosystem.
Mundt is already looking ahead. Work is underway on new ideas, partnerships and opportunities to expand what GovBrew delivers to its community, with more expected to be announced in the weeks ahead.
"What excites me most is that Lisa is already thinking about where GovBrew can go next,” Blackburn said. “She knows this community, she sees the opportunity, and she isn’t coming in simply to maintain what exists. I’m excited to be her partner and even more excited to see what she and the team build."
