US, UK agree to jointly partner on command and control.

As the Project Convergence network experiment wrapped up this month, US and UK military officials agreed to jointly improve command and control between the Pentagon’s JADCC and London’s Multi-Domain Integration Change Program while focusing on data compatibility and lessons learned from the exercise. GAO: DOD struggles with producing timely and accurate cyber reports.

There may be fewer reported DOD cyber incidents than there were seven years ago – 12,000 fewer than in 2015 – but the stats are probably skewed. The military and its contractors struggle with producing timely and accurate reports on cyber incidents, according to a GAO report. Read more

USACE kicks off Financial System Support recompete (a RFP announcement).

The recompete of Army Corps of Engineers’ Financial System Support contract is a five-year, $150M contract reserved for small businesses. Proposals are due Dec. 16. There’s a pre-proposal conference November 28. Read more

The Cybersecurity Coalition, Better Identity Coalition, Identity Theft Resource Center, US Chamber of Commerce Technology Engagement Center, and others want Congress to include digital identity legislation in its year-end spending bill. NGA DevCorps puts land navigation skills to test.

Forty team members of the NGIA DevCorps broke out their compasses and protractors and shot their azimuths while participating in the second annual land navigation field training exercise. The exercise was conceived by DevCorps Branch Chief Rodney “RJ” Mosquito and conducted by Army ROTC cadets, in coordination with Missouri Army National Guard UH60 Blackhawk helicopter pilots. Read more
