USPS plans to close hundreds of post offices, facilities in consolidation initiative.

USPS officials have listed more than 200 post offices and othe facilities, starting this year, as it seeks to consolidate operations into large facilities, FCW reports. Through this initiative, more letter carriers would travel longer distances to pick up their daily mail loads to deliver.

ATEA PO is looking for feedback on a $499M IDIQ to build an anti-tampering system.

DOD Anti-Tamper Executive Agent Program Office (ATEA PO) is looking for some feedback on a 10-year, $499M contract to design, build and test anti-tamper systems meant to protect critical program information from reverse engineering attempts and other adversarial efforts. ATEA PO expects the anti-tamper platforms to be integrated into a wide range of DOD programs. The proposed technology and product development areas are secure processing, volume protection and sensors and cryptographic protection. The NIH released an RFP for Central Support to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Center for Cancer Research (CCR) portfolio of clinical studies in the areas of Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) programs, IT systems and programming support of the CCR’s databases, multi-institute studies support for QA/QC and CCR’s databases utilized by the outside sites, and patient registration.

DHS considers cybersecurity self-assessments for contractors.

Finally, some streamlining comes to fruition. Eschewing DOD’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program’s approach, DHS officials are considering self-assessments for contractor cybersecurity, as opposed to third party assessments, which carry with them more of a burden, a top DHS officials said last week.

OpenText expanding through acquisition with a $6B Micro Focus deal.

OpenText agrees to acquire Micro Focus in a deal valued at around $6 billion, with an equity value of around $2.1 billion. The companies calculated that the per-share price offered represents a 98.3% premium to the closing price of Micro Focus before the deal was announced. Micro Focus, which is neither micro nor focused, has run into hard times in recent years, with declining revenue every year since 2018. Further, its stock price has dropped over 44% this year and more than 89% for the prior five years. This morning, it traded at just $3.15 per share on U.S. markets, leaving it vulnerable to a takeover.

Intelligence Fusion.

Sigma7 has acquired Intelligence Fusion, a Durham UK-based data and software solutions business whose transformative technology provides intelligence-community grade, client-specific, security and threat information. Sigma7 is a portfolio company of Growth Catalyst Partners. Intelligence Fusion was acquired from The Finance Durham Fund, which is administered by Maven Capital Partners. The transaction terms were not disclosed.
